Guitars, Guitars, Guitars!
Just a quick look at some of the gear here at Castle Forrester...
We've got a bunch of guitars around here at the house, and I thought it might be kind of neat to show them off.
Some belong to Noodles, and others are mine, but when we want to play, a guitar is a guitar, and they all sound just fine,
thanks.
When I get the time, I hope to add some of the other equipment around the house, such as my keyboard, the stuff I use
for recording, and our amplifiers. So check back soon for any new additions!
Anyway, here's the collection.

This is Noodles' guitar. It's an Ibanez EX-series. It's got a flamed maple top with white binding, and all
gold hardware. There's an Ibanez Lo-Pro trem on it, which I don't really care for. There's not enough stability
in it.
|
This is another one of Noodles' guitars - an Ovation acoustic/electric. You can't see the top very clearly, and
it looks orange, but it's actually birdseye maple with a red finish. Up close, it looks great. Sounds good, too,
but it needs work done on the pickup.
|
Finally, we have Noodles' most recent purchase - a Washburn Nuno Bettencourt N2 model guitar. There's a long
story behind how she got it, involving tequila, but I think she made a good choice. It sounds incredible, and the
neck is like silk.

And now for something comletely different... My guitars!

This is my attempt at the Kramer Ad Frankie, one of the guitars used by Edward Van Halen during the 80's. I still
haven't got the neck I want, nor have I been able to get the Floyd Rose bridge for it. However, it works as a nice little
guitar, especially when I don't need to use a whammy bar during a song.

This, as most of you know, is my Mean Street Guitars Intruder. I love this guitar. It's absolutely perfect
for me. You guys can go ahead and keep your Wolfies and what not. This is my Number One guitar.
|
This is my OLP 5-string bass. You know, I love OLP guitars. This bass is beautiful. It's got a natural
finish, sounds HUGE, and offers more versatility than your standard 4-string, in that you don't have to detune for songs like
"Unchained" by Van Halen - you just move down a string! I highly recommend one.

Finished at last! This guitar, called The Custom, was originally an amber OLP MM1 guitar. I sanded the body,
repainted it to my preference, and installed all black hardware. Unfortunately, my installation job wasn't all that
great, and the posts for the Floyd Rose bridge are pulling out. Hopefully, it can be repaired.
|
My newest aquisition: A Squire Bullet with a fixed bridge and a rosewood fretboard. I swore after I bought my first
maple neck that I'd never go back to rosewood, but there's just something about a Strat-type guitar with a rosewood board.
It sounds fuller. Anyway, Here it is. I haven't decided what to do with this, although several folks have suggested
giving it the DCF makeover. We'll see...
